Con-Version 26

by Ryan Rowson
(Calgary, Alberta, Canada)

October 15 to 17 2010

Science Fiction,

Our guests for this year and they are Robert Picardo, John de Lancic, George Lazenby, Chase Masterson and Ethan Phillips.

Calgary Metropolitan Center

Con-Version is a three-day festival devoted to Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and everything in between.

If you're a fan of anything from Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, or even Battlestar Galactica -- either one! -- you'll find people with the same interests (and maybe the same Stormtrooper costume).

Whether you like the Harry Potter books or just the movies, like Lord of the Rings on screen but not on paper, whether you're a literary or a media fan, Con-Version is the can't-miss event of the year!

Regular programming hours are full of demonstrations of medieval sword fighting, discussion panels on your favorite books, gatherings of costumers to share their secrets, and much more. The evenings are packed with entertainment: the dance, variety show, a concert, and Con-Version's famous fund raising "Slave Auction" for the adults.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JAMES MARSTERS TO ATTEND PHOENIX COMICON
"Buffy" alum joins other talented guests at Phoenix in May

Phoenix, Ariz.—James Marsters, breakout star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and television actor on series such as Smallville and Torchwood will be appearing at Phoenix Comicon.

"James Marsters played some of the greatest characters on scifi television," said Matt Solberg, Convention Director. "He was Spike on Buffy, Braniac on Smallville, and he voiced Lex Luthor in Superman: Doomsday. We are absolutely thrilled that he'll be coming to Phoenix."

Marsters began his career with a small role on television's Northern Exposure, but it wasn't until his role as the reformed vampire Spike on Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer that his true star power showed through.

"We are so glad Marsters is taking the time to visit Phoenix," said Anabel Martinez, Marketing Director. "Our attendees and fans will love having the chance to meet him in person."

Most recently, Marsters starred in the History Channel's movie Moonshot, portraying Buzz Aldrin. He has also been cast in a guest star role on the new SyFy series Caprica, a prequel to the critically-acclaimed Battlestar Galactica.

Marsters will also be performing in concert at the Phoenix Comicon at a special ticketed event.

More info can be found at Phoenix Comicon's website, http://www.phoenixcomicon.com.
